Vinita Nair
In July 2004 Nair joined ABC News covering a number of news stories, including the investigation into the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey and the shootings that occurred in Bailey, Colorado. Nair began working for ABC News as an anchor/correspondent for ABC News Now in December 2007. The anchor was responsible for anchoring the live news broadcast, along with briefings on ABC's digital channels. Nair was co-anchor on World News Now and America This Morning on ABC, from September 17th, 2008 from September 17, 2008, until February 18, 2011. On both of these programs, Nair worked initially in partnership together with Jeremy Hubbard. Later she co-anchored the show with Rob Nelson. Nair announced to the viewers of World News Now that she will not appear on World News Now after Friday 18th February. This would also be her last day with ABC News. Peggy Bunker, a former anchor on KDVR Denver, was her direct successor. Each of the three segments of the World News Now's February 18 broadcast, Nair was honored by her former colleagues as well including Jeremy Hubbard. The morning she left she treated her team to a delectable breakfast.
