Miesha Theresa

Miesha Theresa Tate has been in the world of mixed martial arts since more than a decade. She is also a former mixed martial art practitioner, she been a participant with the Ultimate Fighting Championship and is an ex- UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion. From her early school days she Tacoma native was very athletic. As she was attending Central Washington University Central Washington University, she started attending the club for mixed martial art because it was recommended by an acquaintance. In her amateur debut, she faced Elizabeth Posener (a Muay Thai specialist) in her 20s. In the following year she debuted as a pro at the HOOKnSHOOT women's one-night Grand Prix. Within two years she won the FCF Women's Bantamweight Champion the first time. Tate's fight style was centered around wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. She resulted in a great deal of recognition and admiration. Then, her fame rose when she became first woman to be awarded the Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Championship. As well as her profession in mixed martial art, she has also modeled for a variety of publications and websites, such as 'ESPN The Magazine' and 'Fitness Gurls'.
